Policies

All courses are approved by the District of Columbia Real Estate Commission.

The 60 hour Pre Licensing course fulfills the prerequisite for taking the real estate examination for salespersons.  The course materials includes: textbook, exams and various handouts designed to prepare student for DC examination. The final exam is administered upon completion of all requirements. Certificate preparation and final reporting to the Real Estate Commission will occur for student after successful completion of course requirements and final examination as determined by instructor and within the Real Commission timelines.

Each 3 hour Continuing Education Course fulfills the requirements for the current license cycle.  Final reporting to the Real Estate Commission will occur after successful completion of course requirements as determined by instructor and reported to the Real Commission  – usually “REPORTED/BANKED” within 7 days.

Registration

Online registration (preferred) must be submitted to the ULC Real Estate School – Enrollment Center at www.urbanlandcompany.com or walk-ins at Urban Land Company located at 913 Florida Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20001, 202-299-9223

Full payment is required with registration.  Pay by charge card (Visa, MC, Discover) and PayPal.

We DO NOT ACCEPT cash or checks – personal or company. Money Orders accepted for walk-ins only. 

For an extra $25.00 fee,  a two (2) payment option is available for pre-licensing course.   Only prepaid students are guaranteed a seat. Once course is full, enrollments will no longer be accepted for particular course.

Tuition Fees

Tuition Fees are listed where applicable. We also offer Free Home Buyer and Home Seller Workshops for consumers and Free Topics for Agents professional development seminars.

Additional Fees / Surcharges

Transfer fee $10.00, each time a student alters their chosen class.

Pre-Licensing Course Only- $25.00 extra for use of Installment Plan

Enrollment Policy

Pre-Licensing: The District of Columbia requires a prospective licensee be at least 18 years of age to activate their real estate license. Pre Licensing class must be completed within (3) months from the first day of class attended. If
not completed within that time, the student must repay tuition and retake the entire course to receive credit. The student should keep all documents regarding enrollment & financial obligations. Students who are 10 minutes late or leave early will not receive credit for that session.

Continuing Education: Brokers, Salespersons, and Property Managers renew license every odd number year. Brokers and Property Managers by February 28, and Salespersons by August 31.There are 9 mandatory hours and 6 elective hours.  The student should keep all documents regarding enrollment & financial obligations. Students who are 10 minutes late or leave early will not receive credit for that session. Course completion will be reported to the Commission within 7 days.

Student Requirements

Pre-Licensing: Students must satisfy all obligations, attend entire course as verified by sign-in/out sheets, and pass the course final exam within 1 month period after last class date, before Certificate of Completion is prepared and results reported to the DC Real Estate Commission.  Student can retake the final twice. After retaking final twice, unsuccessfully, then student must take entire Pre-Licensing Course again at a 50% reduction in course tuition.

Continuing Education: Students must satisfy all obligations, attend entire course as verified by sign-in/out sheet, before results are reported/banked with the DC Real Estate Commission.

Inclement Weather Policy

Same as Howard University student notification. If Howard University has delayed opening, ULC Real Estate School WILL OPEN for evening courses. If Howard University closes, evening classes will be canceled.

Cancellation Policy

School reserves the right to change and/or cancel courses, for less than 6 people registered, inclement weather, etc, as necessary.  In that event course is canceled, students who registered for class will be notified by email or phone. Registrants must ensure that all contact information is accurate and up-to-date.  Students will receive the opportunity to enroll in another continuing education course.  The pre-licensing students, along with the instructor, will determine a make-up date and/or other options.

School Holidays

New Year’s, Martin Luther King Jr’s Birthday, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Disabled Students

Students with disabilities requiring special accommodations, must give at least 1 week in advance notice when registering. Please do so in writing to pdworthy@embarqmail.com.

Refund Policy

NO REFUNDS – Only school vouchers for the next pre-licensing course or another continuing education course are offered. No refunds for books, materials or supplies.
